Leica camera serial number decoder
Find out when your Leica camera was made
This tool allows you to enter your Leica camera's serial number and get details such as the model, year and place of manufacture. This decoder supports all major Leica camera series including M-series rangefinders (film and digital), R-series SLRs, screw-mount Barnack cameras, CL, SL, Q, and T series. The serial number location varies by model: on M-series cameras it's engraved on the top plate near the accessory shoe; on R-series it's typically on the baseplate or near the lens mount; on screw-mount cameras it's on the top plate. For best results, select your camera model from the dropdown menu.
Tip: For most accurate results, select your camera model from the dropdown above. The model is usually engraved on the camera's top plate or body. If you're not sure, just enter the serial number and we'll attempt to identify the model.
Supported cameras: M-series (all models from M3 to M11), R-series SLRs, Screw-mount Barnack cameras (Leica I/II/III), CL, SL, Q, T/TL series, and more.
