You can use this tool to find the manufacture date of any device made by Roland. It works by decoding the date code part of the serial number, as the date code on Roland devices was repeated my database of Roland manufacture ranges will then help to narrow it down. For instruments manufactured for a long time or for devices that are not in my database you will be returned multiple possible dates. Roland have used three formats for their serial numbers over the years. Pre 1989, 1989-2010, and 2010 to date. This tool now supports all three formats.
This database is continually growing feel free to message me if your model was not included and I will try to add it. For details of my database click here. This was originally built for vintage synths and drum machines but I have extended it to include all Roland gear including amplifiers and electric pianos. For the Jazz Chorus line of amps the model number is in the format JC-xxx, eg, JC-120, JC-22. Roland printers and Roland engraving machines should also work. For Boss products please use the separate Boss decoder as that has the database for the Boss production dates.
